Sonic: Moveset
Anyone that has played a Sonic game should be familiar what it feels like controling him. He's super fast, agile, and has memorable moves like the Spin Dash and the Homing Attack. We managed to keep all of these fundamentals when placing Sonic in our game!
-Aerial Attack: Spin Dash Kick-
A quick spin followed by a kick.
We've made sure that he's very easy to control in the air, as opposed by being hard to control on the ground because of his speed. Use the Spin Dash Kick to deal many hits, and press the action button again to do the kick the name suggests! It's a nice finisher.
-Up Special Move: Spring Jump-
That's.. That's really high.
This move is probably best used for recovering back to the surface after being blow away by your opponent. He uses the classic Spring to perform a giant leap in the air! He floats down slowly - try using his Aerial Attack here - he's one of the few characters that can do that.
-Standard Special Move: Homing Attack-
The blue trail is a trademark of this move.
Introduced in the Sonic Adventure series, press the Special Move button once, and you'll do the Homing Attack. He makes a small jump upward, and dashes diagonally down! Make sure you land this move correctly, and you can rack up hits easily. Beware of floating platforms blocking your path, and try not to put yourself in danger when using it.
-Down Special Move: Spin Dash-
Yes. Classic Sonic.
Charge this move down just a little before letting go of the buttons, and you'll roll further. Hit multiple opponents by zooming by them - it's also very useful when you're in aerial combat. Ah, before I forget: you can change the direction of the attack swiftly by pressing a side angle!
-Side Special Move: Light Dash-
Ready?! Go!
Equipped with the Light Shoes, Sonic get's ready to dash forward blinding lightspeed. Same rules as the Spin Dash apply, charge it down longer to travel further. It's extemely useful for returning to the stage, in combination with his Spring Jump.. But it's also just very powerful.
That's Sonic in a nutshell. There's still alot more to learn for advanced players, though. Keep an eye out for the updates.
